The Tampa Aquarium Is
Full Of Surprises.

Tampa Aquarium is a great place to spend a day. The Aquarium is officially  named the Florida Aquarium. It is located on Channelside drive Which also has several restaurants and shops worth visiting. The port of Tampa is adjacent to the aquarium making the aquarium a great way to kill time prior to the departure of your cruise.

Hands on Experiences

There are plenty of things for children of all ages to do at the Florida Aquarium. It allows you to get up close and personal with animals you may never have known existed. Touch tanks are available for sting rays, sea urchins and star fish. After touching these creatures the aquarium provides and asks that you sanitize your hand with hand sanitizer.  

Shows

Several shows take place daily. Feeding by a scuba diver is my kids favorite. The penguin walk is also a big hit. You can get a daily show schedule  at the guest relations desk when you first enter the Florida Aquarium.

Something to Eat

The aquarium has a ice cream stand on the first floor as well as a cafeteria for full meals.  The outside restaurant called the Cantina has the best food on property. Though the restaurants on Channelside drive Have something for everyone from 5 star steak houses to more casual options like Hooters and Pizza. If you spend the entire day at the aquarium you can have dinner on channelside and then go to see a movie in channelside's super sized theater
